Who Was the Most Famous Pirate of All Time?

In my research, I found famous pirates, legendary pirates, successful pirates and a sundry list of pirates. One fact keeps surfacing in my quest to identify the most famous pirate of all time. Blackbeard is legendary and he holds the title as the most famous pirate of all time. If you have evidence to the contrary, please post it in the comment section below. I would love to hear from you and I want to get the facts straight.

I have highlighted a link above that leads to a very good story about Blackbeard. Please visit the site responsible for this article at www.thewayofpirates.com.

Who Was Blackbeard?
What do you know about his life?
Where did he live?
How many years was he a pirate?
How many wives did Blackbeard have?
Did Blackbeard ever find any hidden treasure?
How much booty did he plunder?

For answers to these questions, follow this blog as I post the answers in coming posts. I will unfold the history of the most famous pirate of all time until a full feature article on his life is finished. I invite you to contribute to this historical essay on Blackbeard.

Exploring the Latest Discoveries in Space

The greater technology that is developed, space exploration reaches new heights in its ability to search deeper into the nature of our universe. New discoveries are made almost daily now by NASA and by both government and private organizations. Scientists have tools at their fingertips that permit closer investigation into space that allows them to make new analyses of formerly perceived theories and prior discoveries.

What has been discovered in the recent months?

1. Asteroid 2007 TU24 Flyby

Asteroid 2007 TU24 (information taken from website link above)

Asteroid 2007 TU24 is flying past the Earth by 1.4 lunar distance (538,000 km) on 30 January at 4:33pm UT+8 . The 250m-wide space rock is not going to collide with Earth. The magnitude of TU24 is 10th so a telescope with at least 76 cm can reveal the asteroid.

This will be the closest approach until the next century. It’s also the asteroid’s closest Earth approach for 2,000 years. Asteroid 2007 TU24 was discovered by the NASA-sponsored Catalina Sky Survey on Oct. 11, 2007.
